Reaction Test

Actioneasy

Reaction Test measures your reflexes with scientific precision. The concept is simple — wait for the screen to turn green, then click or tap as fast as possible — but the results reveal fascinating insights about your reaction speed. Each game consists of 5 rounds. A red "Wait..." screen appears for a random duration between 1.5 and 5 seconds before suddenly turning green. Your job is to click the instant you see green. Click too early during the red phase and you'll have to redo that round. After all 5 rounds, you'll see your individual times, average reaction speed, and best time, along with a rating. The average human reaction time to a visual stimulus is around 250 milliseconds — can you beat it?

Controls: Click or tap when the screen turns green. Don't click too early!

How to Play Reaction Test

Click or tap the screen to begin. Each round starts with a dark "Get Ready" screen, then switches to a red "Wait..." screen. Do NOT click during the red phase — if you do, the round restarts.

When the screen turns green and shows "CLICK!", tap or click as fast as you can. Your reaction time in milliseconds is displayed before the next round begins automatically.

After 5 rounds, your results are shown: all individual times, your average, your best time, and a performance rating. Try to stay focused and keep your finger or mouse ready without tensing up.

Reaction Test Tips & Strategies

  • Rest your finger lightly on the mouse button or screen — don't hover, and don't press down.
  • Focus on the color change, not on trying to predict the timing.
  • Take a breath between rounds to stay relaxed — tension slows you down.
  • Don't try to anticipate the green screen — "too early" penalties waste more time than waiting.
  • Consistent times are better than one fast outlier — aim for reliable speed.
  • Your reaction time improves with practice, so play multiple rounds to warm up.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a good reaction time?

The average human visual reaction time is about 250ms. Under 200ms is considered excellent, and under 150ms is exceptional. Professional esports players often average 150-180ms. Times below 100ms are likely anticipation rather than true reaction.

Why does my reaction time vary between rounds?

Reaction time naturally varies due to factors like attention, fatigue, and arousal level. A variance of 20-50ms between rounds is completely normal. Your average across all rounds is the most meaningful measure.

What happens if I click too early?

If you click during the red "Wait..." phase, the round is marked as "Too Early" and you'll need to redo it. This prevents players from guessing the timing instead of genuinely reacting to the color change.
